Strong Bones, Strong Women

Staggering statistics reveal that by age 60, 27% of women already have osteoporosis, and unless diagnosed through screening, will present as a fracture. This Bone Health talk will offer a practical understanding of how to protect and strengthen bones as we age. We will begin with a short overview of how bone health works, changes that accelerate bone loss, followed by current guidelines for bone health from the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinology. These key strategies include nutrition, physical activity, lifestyle factors, and screening to support skeletal integrity. In the second half, we will shift to an integrative and functional perspective, highlighting additional tools such as the emerging concept of bone-gut crosstalk, targeted supplementation, and holistic approaches that may complement conventional guidance and help optimize bone resilience.
